The exclusivity and value of S&T’s nationally ranked petroleum engineering program cannot be understated.
The petroleum engineering program is the only such program in the state and one of only 17 ABET-accredited Bachelor programs in the country. The program is also the only program in the nation with a Mechanical Earth Modeling emphasis, which provides a unique experience to our students. The average starting salary of petroleum engineering graduates from S&T is $87,188, the highest starting salary for graduates of any degree program at the university.
On the way to excellent, high-paying jobs upon graduation, over 80 percent of petroleum engineering program students secure summer internships with multinational oil and gas producing and service companies working on projects from well log evaluation to computerized reservoir simulation.
