Student Organizations and Honor Societies
American Association of Drilling Engineers – Student organization affiliated with the national AADE organization. The organization seeks the latest interventions in the area of drilling by being involved with various industry professionals and by interacting at conferences, workshops and seminars.
Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists – Student chapter affiliated with the national Association, which offers an extensive array of opportunities for students with online resources, publications, meetings and seminars. Organization dedicated to education and advancements in geological engineering, geotechnical engineering, seismic engineering, environmental engineering, engineering geology, and engineering geophysics.
C.L. Dake Geological Society – Student chapter of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. Touted as the main organization on campus for individuals with an interest in geology. Previous trips and proposed trips include diamond and quartz digging in Arkansas, float trips, geode hunting in Illinois, tours of Bonne Terre Mine, tours of local caves, and trips to Maramec Spring Park.
Pi Epsilon Tau – Mu Chapter of the National Petroleum Engineering Honor Society.
Sigma Gamma Epsilon – Eta Chapter of Society established to recognize scholarship and professionalism in the earth sciences and related disciplines.
Society of Exploration Geophysicists – Student chapter of SEC Foundation, which advances geophysics today and inspires geoscientists for tomorrow through funding innovative activities and grant programs that benefit geophysicists, their professional community, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the general public. All majors are accepted into the organization.
Society of Petroleum Engineers – Student chapter affiliated with international Society, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to collect, disseminate and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit.
Spelunkers Club – The oldest student caving club in Missouri, the organization is devoted to the safe exploration, protection, conservation, and documentation of caves and karst regions. The club brings those with a common interest and love of caves together for the sharing of thoughts and ideas.
